Mt Boucherie Summit Reserve 2005

We bought this wine at the Mt Boucherie vineyard at least a year ago.  We have a habit of storing wine and then completely forgetting what was special about it and how expensive it was.  This is definitely the case with the Mt Boucherie Summit Reserve 2005.  P and I were staying in on a Saturday night and I wanted something nice to drink to compensate for the fact that we weren’t going out.  I grabbed this bottle fairly randomly, dusted it off, and opened it up.  We immediately loved this wine.  It is very fruity – blackberry and raspberry notes dominate.  It went well with our fish coconut curry and is excellent on its own.  I have no idea how much this bottle costs as it is no longer available from the Mt Boucherie website, but the 2006 Reserve goes for $24.99.  We will definitely be on the look-out for another bottle of this!
